Vincent D'Agostino III Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Vincent R. D’Agostino III, age 65, of Hamden, CT.  Beloved husband of Sandra (Simone) D’Agostino and loving father of Vincent R. D’Agostino IV (wife Jacquelyn Rose) of Colchester and Gina M. D’Agostino (fiancé Joseph D’Ambrosca) of Branford, “Papa” to Sophia and Isabella D’Agostino.  Born in New Haven, CT, Vinny was the youngest of three children to the late Vincent R. D’Agostino, Jr. and Helen E. (Atkinson) D’Agostino.  He was predeceased by a sister, Marion Hafez. He met Sandy in 1980 at Malone’s West, married in 1983, and settled in Hamden to raise their two children and many dachshunds.  Besides his love of his family and God, he loved hockey (he was a goalie), Medieval Knights, his model collection, his salt-water fish, loud heavy metal music, the old shows on TV, dancing, and Italian cuisine.  He leaves behind his brother-in-law Joseph Simone (Fran), sister-in-law Laurie Simone (Paul, deceased), many nieces and nephews and so many good friends: Paul, Donnie, Louie, as well as his Westville Park crew, fellow parishioners, and many friends at SCSU where he worked as an electrician. Many thanks to the nurses and doctors at YNHH (St. Raphael's) Verdi North.  Due to COVID, the viewing will be private. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial open to friends at 11am on Thursday, January 6th at St. Anthony’s Church, 70 Washington Avenue, New Haven, CT. Interment will follow at Beaverdale Memorial Park, Hamden, CT.  Guests in attendance must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
