It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vincent “Binky” Amellin Jr., who left us on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the age of 83.
Vincent was born on March 6, 1942, in New Haven, and was the son of the late Vincent Amellin Sr. and Florence Ferino Amellin.
An Army veteran, Vincent worked as an asbestos worker for over 30 years and was a member of Local 33. He was predeceased by his wife, Marie Arpaia Amellin. He is survived by his sister, Margo Amellin Kornacki; his daughter, Paris Koblitz; and his two granddaughters. He is also survived by several cousins, extended family members, and friends.
The family would like to sincerely thank Joe and Gil at Highvue Manor for the care they provided Vincent over the years, as well as the nursing staff on the 6th floor of the East Pavilion at Yale New Haven Hospital.
The visiting hours will be Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:30 at the Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St., New Haven. A graveside service with military honors will be held in St. Lawrence Cemetery at 11:00.
