Sister Mary Margaret Nolan, OSB, a member of the Benedictines of Jesus Crucified of the Monastery of the Glorious Cross, 61 Burban Drive, Branford, passed away March 20, 2017 in St. Mary’s Home, West Hartford. Born in New Castle, PA. on Dec. 11, 1925, Sister was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Margaret Ellen Burns Nolan. She entered the religious order June 1, 1959 at Regina Mundi Priory in Devon, PA. and made her perpetual profession in 1962. She was a member of the community at St. Paul’s Priory in Newport, R.I. before coming to Branford. She is survived by a sister, Pauline Unger; a niece, Mary Unger and a nephew, William Unger, all of Ohio.
Friends may call at the Monastery of the Glorious Cross, 61 Burban Drive, Branford Thursday from 4 to 8 pm and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in the Monastery Chapel Friday at 12:00 Noon. Interment in St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford.
