Silvino M. Valeriano, 91, of New Haven passed away June 12, 2018 after a long illness. Born in Bridgeport on Oct. 13, 1926, he was the son of the late Felipe and Aninha DaRosa Valeriano. He was a long time resident of New Haven where he worked for Armstrong Tires, The Courier Citizen Newspaper and retired from the US Postal Service. He was a proud Cape Verdean and an avid bowler. He is survived by his sister, Carlota (Charlotte) Williams; and brothers, Armondo and Walter “Pete” (Joan) Valeriano, all of New Haven; in addition to long time companion and devoted friend, Theresa Thompson of Milford; god daughters and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Ruta Valeriano and brothers, Manuel and Daniel Valeriano.
Visitation will take place Monday Morning from 9:00 to 10:00 am at St. Martin dePorres Church, 136 Dixwell Ave., New Haven followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery
