Rudolph DeMattie, 87, of New Haven passed away April 11, 2018. He was the husband of Natalie Esposito DeMattie. Mr. DeMattie was born in Woodbridge March 21, 1931, son of the late Nicola and Theresa Perrone DeMattie.He graduated from Hillhouse High School in 1950 and worked in the Food Service Department of the New Haven Board of Education for many years. He loved gardening and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and especially Joe DiMaggio and also The Dallas Cowboys. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Robert DeMattie; one daughter, Theresa (Dan) Burns of Woodbridge; and his beloved grandson, Eli Burns. He was predeceased by brothers Albert, Joseph, Steve, William and Salvatore “Renny” DeMattie and one sister, Mary Vitale.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Aedan’s Church, 112 Fountain St. Tuesday morning at 10:00.Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
