Rosemary O’Brien Masi, 93, of Hamden passed away peacefully on May 30, 2017 at Whitney Manor Rehab. Nursing Facility in Hamden. She was the wife of the late Edward Joseph Masi. Mrs. Masi was born in New Haven on Oct. 17, 1923, daughter of the late Joseph E. and Irene Houle O’Brien. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a bookkeeper at Golden O’Neill and Gebhardt Insurance Agency in New Haven.  Rosemary loved to spend time with her family. She was an avid reader, loved music and singing throughout her life. She was the cherished mother of Rosemary Buth of North Haven and Karen Masi of Fort Myers, FL.; beloved grandmother of Jacquelyn (David) Galligan, Kristin (Simon) Luetz, Kathryn (Steve) Deane, Jennifer (Les) Marquart and Kevin Buth. Also survived by 7 great grandchildren and many loving nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her son in law, Keith Buth; two brothers, Joseph E. and Donald O’Brien; and three sisters, Margaret  K. Wheeler, Donelda Kendall and  Elinor Hunihan. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Whitney Manor for the manner in which Rosemary was cared for in a loving, gentle and respectful way by all.

Funeral from The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. (cor. Dwight) New Haven Saturday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony’s Church, 70 Washington Ave., New Haven at 10:00. Friends may call at the funeral home prior to the funeral from 8:30 to 9:30 am. Interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
