Rose Donato, 94, of Woodbridge passed away at her home on March 16, 2018. She was the wife of the late Joseph Donato. Mrs Donato was born in New Haven Jan. 9, 1924, daughter of the late Sante and Maria Ferrara Potenziani. She was well known as a baker, operating Rosie’s Home Bakery, selling her baked goods at Simon’s Farm Market. Besides her baking skills, she was a master knitter and was a past president of St. Ann’s Rosary Society. Devoted to her family, she was a kind and loving mother, grandmother and friend to all. She is survived by two sons, Simon J. Donato of Woodbridge and Joseph Donato Jr. of Woodbury; one daughter, Laurie (Philip) Cappello of Millersville, MD. her loving sister, Ann Potenziani of Woodbridge and was an amazing grandmother to her five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral from The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. (cor. Dwight) New Haven Saturday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Center Road, Woodbridge at 10:00. Friends may call at the funeral home prior to the funeral from 8:30 to 9:30 am. Interment in East Side Cemetery, Woodbridge.
