RICHARD A FLOYD Obituary

Richard Floyd  10/1/39- 2/24/21 resided in Bethany. Born in New Haven to the son of the late W.B Floyd and Ruth(Phillips). He joined the US National Guard and the unit was activated to Castle, Germany during the Berlin Crisis. Returning home he moved to Bethany with his beloved wife Alberta(Petrosino).  He raised 2 sons, Richard S. Floyd(Theresa) and Matthew T. Floyd(Christine) with five grandchildren Caitlin, Brianna, Matthew, Danielle and Mackenzie. He was employed by the National Elevator Constructors upon retiring he would meet with the other retirees on Friday mornings in Waterbury for coffee. He was a member of the Auto Memories Model A Antique Club. A life member of the Bethany Volunteer Fire Department and an EMT for 6 years. He leaves behind a brother W.B. (Bud) Floyd of Branford and sister, the late Dale Meadows of Virginia Beach, VA. Because of the pandemic there will be no services. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to BVFD 765 Amity Rd Bethany, CT 06524 or to a charity of your choice.
