Peter A. Yukash, age 62, U.S.M.C veteran, passed unexpectedly on Friday, July 21, 2023 at his residence in. Middletown. Peter was born in New Haven, CT, Sept. 24, 1960, the son of the late Michael and Wasylyna Yukash. In his youth, Peter was a parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Ukrainian Youth Organization. Peter served his country faithfully as a communication specialist during Operation Crisex-81, spending the majority of his time overseas. Peter is survived by his three beloved daughters, Irene, Katia, and Lydia, as well as his recent adorable grandson. Besides his daughters, he is also survived by his daughters' mother, Mrs. Gail Day. He leaves in great sorrow 2 brothers, Jaroslav and Mykola, 2 sisters, Mariyka and Katie, nephew, Stefan, and many other nieces ands nephews. Peter will be remembered for his bright smile, unique sense of humor, his kindness and compassion, his routine walks with his friends and his faithful dog, Bud (Lizzie), his sharing of music and his creative ability to fix anything broken. He will be missed by all.
Friends may call at the Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St., New Haven, on Thursday, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Panachyda (Memorial service) will be held in the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Liturgy will take place in St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 569 George St., New Haven, Friday, at 10:00 a.m. Interment with full military honors in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
