Pauline Mae Garceau
Age 98, on August 18, 2018, was called home peacefully to the Lord’s loving care.
Pauline was born July 29, 1920 in St. Albans, Vermont. She graduated from Johnson State College in Vermont, and was a school teacher for grades 1-8. She moved to Woodbridge, Connecticut in 1946, with her beloved husband Leo, to whom she was married for over 55 years until his death in 2001.
While residing in Woodbridge Connecticut, she was very active in the Woodbridge Garden Club, and also used her spare time creating crafts for local churches.
Her biggest pleasure was spending time with her family and her many friends. Between 1987-2002 Pauline and her husband Leo enjoyed living in Daytona Beach Shores, Florida, where they provided many enjoyable moments to family walking on the beaches, swimming in the pool, and visiting the many local attractions. She also spent her leisure time baking, crocheting, and was an avid reader. She loved saying her rosary for friends and family in need and watching EWTN. She was a cornerstone within the neighborhood and will be missed by everyone who knew her. Above all, Pauline cherished her family and created innumerable memories that will remain in the hearts, souls, and minds of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Pauline was deeply loved by her seven children and their spouses, Jere and his wife Laura, Kenny and his wife Marlene, Peter (deceased) and his wife Teresa, Kathy and her husband Steve, Paula and her husband Pete, Roger and his wife Moie, and Joanne and her husband Roger. She was the loving grandmother of her 12 grandchildren David (deceased), Melissa, Chris, Kara, Greg, Warren, Kurt, Jared, Cody, Michael, Marston, and Nash. She was also blessed to have 14 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to greet Pauline’s family from 9-10 a.m. until the start of a Celebration of Life Mass on August 25, 2018, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, at 81 Center Road in Woodbridge, Connecticut, 06525. Interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Pauline’s honor may be made to Connecticut Hospice in Branford, Connecticut, or to EWTN.
