Nina (DiLella) Celentano

Nina Francis DiLella Celentano, 77, passed on March 8th, in her home, with her family by her bedside, holding her hands. She lived at 398 Village Street, Northford, for almost 50 years. She was born on May 25, 1944, in New Haven where she was raised and graduated Hillhouse High School in 1962. She was predeceased by her parents, Felix and Josephine Cognato Dilella, and her (boo baby) grandson, Vinny McLay, and her brother in law, Robert Celentano. She leaves behind her husband, Joseph James Celentano, Jr of 58 years. She leaves her three children; Joseph (Tracey) Celentano of Clinton, Mark (Kimberly) Celentano of North Branford, and Kristina (Mark) McLay of Northford. She also leaves her precious grandchildren; Kaysea (Michael), Nickolas, Michael, Daniel (Samantha), Joseph (JJ), Samantha (Austin) and Ian. Her great grandchildren; Kayden, Cecelia, Gianna and one more on the way. She leaves behind her beloved sister, Pasqualina DiLella, her brother Felix and her nephew Robert Celentano Jr and nieces and nephews. She worked as an X-ray technologist, Bookkeeper and caretaker/housekeeper to the elderly. She loved most of all taking care of and being with her family and her best friend, Irene Eagan.
