Nancy Vigliotti, 91, beloved sister of Elizabeth Papa and John Vigliotti, passed away peacefully at her home on August 9, 2017. Born in New Haven, the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Elvira Vigliotti, she grew up on Lombard Street and attended local schools. Nancy worked for many years at Soundscriber and Firelight Alarms in New Haven and North Branford. Nancy was a humble person of deep faith and a devoted member of the St. Donato church community. She valued the simple things in life like time with family and friends, shopping with her mother and sister, and dancing and socializing at the YMCA. Italian traditions were of great importance to Nancy and she will be fondly remembered for her delicious cooking on Sundays and holidays. In her later years, Nancy was an active member of the Bella Vista Community where she enjoyed activities such as bingo and pinochle. Nancy also enjoyed traveling through New England, Virginia and her favorite destination, Italy. Nancy was warmly regarded as a "second-mother" by her nieces and nephews, the late Mark Papa, Dr. John Papa, David Papa, Paul Papa, Susan Willard, the late Vincent Vigliotti, the late Judy Tyz, and their spouses. Nancy will be missed by her grand nieces and nephews who loved her very much. She is survived by her brother and sister and many nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Anthony’s Church on 70 Washington Avenue, New Haven at 10am on Saturday, August 19th. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Smilow Cancer Center.
