Obituary
Louis, (Lou) Kempter, 91, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones on Tuesday, June 6, 2023. Lou was born on October 21, 1931 in New Haven, CT. He was a graduate of East Haven High School class of 1949 “49ers”. Lou was an accountant for American Tube Bending company for 35 years and served as the president of the National Accounting Association (NAA). His love for people and his community led him to Saint Regis in New Haven, where he volunteered as a patient advocate for 27 years. As a lover of history, Lou served as the president of East Haven Historical Society. Predeceased by his mother, Margaret in 1981 his father Anthony, in 1992 and his brother Joseph 2009. He leaves behind his beloved sister Ann Swierad (Walter), his niece, Sandra Woodhouse, and her two children, Margaret and Christopher (Kristin)Woodhouse, his nephew, Scott Swierad, his great niece Kristina Swierad, and great grand niece, Loren Louise. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Home Care Plus, 753 Boston Post Rd., Guilford, CT 06437.
