Lisa Crosby Obituary

Lisa Louise Texeira-Crosby, wife of the late William (Bill) Curtis Crosby; daughter of the late Vincent Pina Texeira and Pauline Varella Texeira, entered into peaceful rest at Yale New Haven Hospital, on Monday May 8th, 2023. Here to celebrate Lisa’s life, to remember and honor the quiet strength with which she harnessed to move through health challenges, is her loving family - most importantly her son Christopher Jared William Crosby; grandsons Cayden Curtis Crosby and Ky’aire William Crosby, both of whom she adored.

Lisa was born the 6th of eight children and cherished a closely-knit relationship with each of her seven siblings: Linda Texeira, Cynthia Teixeira, Michael (Eileen Drake) Texeira, Martin Texeira, Christopher (Phyllis Cummings) Texeira, Robin Texeira Atwater (Michael Atwater), and Brian Texeira. She was affectionately known as “Li-Li,” “Lis,” & “Auntie Lisa,” and will forever be remembered by her adoring nieces and nephews for her sweet and gentle nature, and for always expressing genuine interest in what they had going on in their lives. Fond memories with Lisa are warmly held by a host of loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Lisa is a graduate of Wilbur Cross High School, Class of 1972. While in her senior year at Wilbur Cross, Lisa was accepted into a work-study program through which she interned at the Southern New England Telephone Company. Lisa furthered her employment as an Administrative Assistant for Wardoco, an energy corporation, and an Account Manager for AT&T telecommunications company, until the time of her retirement.

The Texeira & Crosby family wishes to thank the entire medical team at Yale New Haven Hospital, and most especially: Dr. Caroline Gordon, Dr. Anita Arora and medical student Michael Kaminsky, for the valiant care provided to Lisa during her recent stay there. With warmest regards we extend deep gratitude to the nurses of East Pavilion 5-5, most notably to nurses Raina, Shanice, Chiz, and Berniece, for their deep compassion and continuous efforts in assuring that Lisa felt comfortable and cared for. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Martin de Porres Church Monday at 10:30 AM. Interment will be private. The Celentano Funeral Home is caring for the family.  If you wish to make a charitable donation in memory of Lisa, please consider: Fund at Yale New Haven Hospital PO Box 1849 New Haven CT 06508 or National Multiple Sclerosis Society Connecticut Chapter 1111 Cromwell Ave, Building #3, Suite 302 Rocky Hill, Connecticut 06067 (800) 344-4867 nationalmssociety.org
