Lucy Goumas, 87, of West Haven passed away March 24, 2017 at her home. Born in Derby on Jan. 22, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Margaret Goumas. Lucy was raised in Ansonia where she attended Ansonia High School. Her first job was working at the family restaurant, Presto Lunch in Ansonia. She moved to West Haven in 1951. She worked at SNET for more than 30 years. She was a member of St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church and The Ladies Philoptohos Society. She was very active in the church, especially in preparation for the annual Odyssey festival and also active in the Golden Years Club. She is survived by her sister, Elaine Goumas of West Haven. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Anastasia. Many thanks to the visiting nurse and staff from Brookdale Home Health Hospice and Verona from Visiting Angels.
Funeral services will be held in St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Racebrook Road, Orange Tuesday morning at 11:00. Friends may pay their respects at the church prior to the funeral from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Interment in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Contributions may be made to St. Barbara Church Building Fund.
