Louise J. Pina-Araujo Giles, 97, passed peacefully at her home August 6, 2020 with her loving family by her side. Born in New Haven February 6, 1923 she was a daughter of the late Joao and Albertina Teixeira DePina Araujo. Louise was a longtime employee of the City of New Haven before her retirement. She is survived by her daughters, Dara Goodman and Deborah Stanley; her grandchildren Pleshette Perry, Kylon Perry, Brooke Goodman, Erica Spearman, and Jerrod Goodman; ten great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Louise’s lifelong companion of 50 years was James Griffin.   She was predeceased by her daughter Arlene Perry; sisters, Alice Hopwood and Felizmena Fernandes; and brothers, Albert, Condence “Frank”, Arthur “Toto”, and Joseph Pina
  A visitation will be held in the Celentano Funeral Home 424 Elm St., New Haven Thursday August 13th from 10:00-11:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00.  Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
