KENNETH WILLIAM SHANKLIN Obituary

Kenneth William Shanklin born July 11, 1955 in Omaha, Nebraska to the late Bettye Jan Dickinson Shanklin and William Claybourn Murry.

Kenneth was best known to his family as “Kenny” and his friends as “Ken”.
Kenny attended and graduated from Omaha North High School in 1973. He enlisted and is a Veteran of the United States Army where he served three years.
He moved to New Haven, CT joined the New Haven Fire Department where he retired after 13 years. Kenny was a 4th Degree brother in the Knights of Columbus Counsel as well as a Volunteer at the Beacon on the Hill Diaper Bank.

He leaves to mourn his life, five children, Kia Glover, Kenneth Shanklin Jr.
(Sylvia), Kendall Shanklin, Kendrell Shanklin (Synthia) and Roslyn Shanklin. Four siblings, Michael E. Shankllin (Sheila), Hugh “Paul” Shanklin, Elaine Anderson (Terry) and James “Jimmy” Shanklin (Traci), nine grandchildren and one great grandson. Kenny also, had a life partner of 10 years and living companion, Ms. Lisa Gras who will miss him greatly. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family who adored him.

Kenny was predeceased in death by his mother, Bettye Jan, sisters Rosemary, Sharon and brother Lawrence “Eric” Shanklin.

Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home, Friday, Nov 16th at 10:00 am Friends are invited to attend
