Jeanette Rosalie (Jamieson) Heagy Obituary

In Loving Memory of Jeanette Rosalie Jamieson Heagy August 4, 1939 – May 15, 2025

Jeanette Rosalie Jamieson Heagy, 85, passed peacefully on May 15, 2025, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, CT, after a courageous four-year battle with kidney disease. A pillar of strength and resilience, Jeanette faced her illness with grace and unwavering determination, never giving up.

Born in New Haven, CT, on August 4, 1939, to Mildred Faust Jamieson and Thomas Jamieson, Jeanette graduated from West Haven High School and went on to enjoy a fulfilling career at Yale New Haven Hospital, serving in various roles with dedication and compassion.

On December 6, 1960, she married the love of her life, Richard Heagy. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure, spending their later years in Orange, CT.

Jeanette was a gifted writer and painter, a passionate conversationalist, and a longtime member of the North Haven Art Guild. She loved to dance, cook, and spend time with her grandchildren, delighting in games of hide and seek and sharing stories of her childhood adventures—riding local horses and enjoying the amusements at Savin Rock.

She and Richard traveled extensively, cherishing trips to the Caribbean, Las Vegas, and a memorable journey through England and Wales with their daughter Pati and son-in-law David.

Jeanette is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Heagy; her children, Michael Heagy (Patty) and Pati Pretlove (David); and her beloved grandchildren, Miles Pretlove (Rachel), Isabella Heagy, Michael Pretlove, and Jack Pretlove. She also leaves behind her sister, Judith Jamieson Burgarella (the late Bobby), several cherished nieces and nephews, and her dearest friend of 50 years, Louise Durante (the late Pete). The Heagy and Durante families shared many joyful vacations together in Cape Cod, New Hampshire, and Riverside Park.

Her loyal dog, Hamilton, still waits patiently for his treats.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Celentano Funeral Home for their compassionate care.

In accordance with Jeanette’s wishes, there will be no formal services. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Connecticut Hospice in her memory.
