JOHN F. PAGLIUCA Obituary

John F. Pagliuca, 88, of East Haven passed away Aug. 19, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Theresa Ann “Terry” Civitello Pagliuca.  Mr. Pagliuca was born in New Haven Oct. 15, 1928, son of the late John and Frances Buonfiglio Pagliuca. He was a master layout man, working at various times for Bigelow Boiler, Metal Masters, Norwalk Fabricating, Amity Mechanical Systems and as part owner of Ironclad Metal Works. He retired in 1995 at the age of 67. During the Korean War, he served with the US Army in Augsburg, Germany from 1950 thru 1951. He loved animals and birds and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, UCONN Women’s Basketball and the New York Giants. He loved his home made strawberry shortcakes and his ice cream sundaes (with extra whipped cream). Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, John (Jill) Pagliuca of East Haven; two daughters, Ann (Steve) Roseberry of North Haven and Marie (Philip) Carrano of the Morris Cove Section of New Haven; one sister, Ann (Walter) Sault of West Haven and five grandchildren, A.J. and Arianna Palmer, Haley and Skye Battista and Kaitlyn Roseberry. He was precedeased by a sister, Dolores Cavanaugh.

Funeral from The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. (cor. Dwight) New Haven Wednesday morning at 10:15. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Pompeii Church, Foxon Road, at 11:00. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm. Interment, with military honors, in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
