Haralambos Bertsos

Haralambos (Bobby) Bertsos, 69, of Branford, passed away on November 7, 2023. Bobby was the beloved husband of Aspasia (Patti) Bertsos. Loving father of Leonidas (Leo) and Marta Eleni and grandfather of Lela. He is survived by his sister and two brothers and many nieces and nephews. Born in Makrisia, Greece, he immigrated to the United States in 1968 with his family. He was the son of the late Leonidas and Margarita Bertsos. His love was his family, soccer, and his restaurant. Until this past spring, Bobby was the proud owner of the Sandpiper, which he built up from a small beach stand to a popular dine-in seafood restaurant in East Haven. Bobby was a lifelong soccer player and member of various teams in New Haven and Naples, FL; he was also a member of the Indian Neck Yacht Club. He enjoyed taking his boat out on the Sound, riding his bike, and, in recent years, golfing. Bobby was well loved and his family and many friends will miss him dearly. Visitation Friday, November 10th from 4 to 7 PM at The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm Street New Haven.  Funeral Service at 10:00 AM, St. Basil's Greek Orthodox Church, 1 Tower Lane, New Haven. Interment immediately following in Branford Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Basil's Greek Orthodox Church.
