Herbert Edward Wachter, 92, of West Haven CT, beloved husband for 68 years of Helen Feslis Wachter passed away peacefully July 19, 2021. Born February 24, 1929 in Floral Park, Long Island son of the late Lawrence and Marian Wachter. Herb enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards, and Sudoku, but mostly enjoyed traveling with his wife, particularly cruises. His smile will be missed by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He proudly served a a Private First Class in the Army Reserves. Until his retirement he was employed for many years as an Engineer at the Pirelli Tire Co.
Besides his wife he leaves his sons, Ronald (Ann), Garry (Janis), Terry (Sharlene), and Michael (Helen) Wachter; Also survived by thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and his brother Robert Wachter. He was predeceased by his brothers, Lawrence, Frank, William, and John.
Funeral Services will be held in St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Racebrook Rd., Orange Thursday at 12 Noon. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the church from 11:00 - 12:00. Interment will follow in Orange Center Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church.
