Frances E Monteiro, of New Haven, passed away peacefully January 27, 2022. She was 84. Frances was born in New Haven August 16, 1937 to the late Roland Jones Sr. and Mildred Wooldridge Jones. She was a 1955 graduate of Langston HS in Danville VA attended college and worked for Emory University and Morehouse College before eventually spending 14 years at Yale New Haven Hospital and 15 years at Yale University as a research scientist. Frances was the beloved mother of Patrick F. Monteiro, Angela Monteiro Dubish and the late Ricardo and Deborah Monteiro. She was the sister of Caroline Hurling, Mildred Hopkins, and the late Victoria Thornton, Marguerite Lopes, Dominga Ferraro, Lucy Gooding, Frankie Andrews, Roland Jones Jr., and Vincent Texeira. Also survived by her grandchildren Christine Morton and Lauren Monteiro and her great grandchild A.J. Monteiro and countless nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday in St. Martin de Porres Church at 10:00 AM. The visitation will be in church from 9 - 10 AM. Interment in St Lawrence Cemetery.
