Francisco (Frank) “Lefty” Mauro, 88, formerly of Branford, passed away May 9, 2018 after a lengthy illness. Born in New Haven Feb. 4, 1930, he was the son of the late Liberato and Martha Guadagno Mauro. He worked as a truck driver for the former Adley Express Co. for many years and was the Union Steward for Teamsters Union Local 443. In the post World War II era, he served in the US Army Air Corps. He is survived by a daughter, Julia Mauro in Florida; three brothers, Domonic Mauro of Branford, Libby Mauro in California and Emilio Mauro of North Branford; a granddaughter, Michelle Frances and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Rose Civitello.
Funeral from The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. (cor. Dwight) New Haven Thursday morning at 10:30. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony’s Church at 11:00. Friends may call at the funeral home prior to the funeral from 8:30 to 10:30 am. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
