Florence Pandajis "Yiayia", 95, passed away peacefully at Masonicare Health Center on March 5, 2021. She was born in New Haven, CT to the late Nick and Georgia Dakis. She was the wife of the late James Pandajis.
Florence loved spending time with her family and baking Greek sweets like baklava and koulouria. She also enjoyed UConn basketball, soap operas, cross stitch, decaf coffee, PB&Js, Mr. Goodbars, and vacationing in Ogunquit, Maine. At Masonicare she developed a passion for balloon volleyball.
She is survived by her three children, Gregory (Barbara) Pandajis, Kathryn Rice, and Georgia Pandajis; grandchildren Marina (Charles) Nitze, Melanie (Greg Barron) Rice, Rebecca (Tom) Adinolfi, Tim (Martha) Pandajis, Bryan (Alex) Pandajis, Lindsay (Jake) Reid, Sarah (Jake) Kennedy, and Matthew Niarchos; great-grandchildren Hunter Niarchos, Cassius Kennedy, and William Reid; god-daughters Nicki (George) Dakis and Bessie (Navid) Khonsari; niece Andonia Dakis; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son-in-law Andrew Rice and her brother and sister-in-law Emanuel and Mary Dakis.
Due to COVID-19 all services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CT Food Bank in Wallingford, CT or St Barbara's Greek Orthodox Church in Orange, CT.
