Emilia (Maria) LaLuz, 90, of New Haven passed peacefully on the night of February 2nd, 2025.
She was born and raised in Puerto Rico; came to New Haven, CT at the age of 16 where she made a life and family with her husband Felix. She was a homemaker, babysitter, an amazing cook, seamstress but most of all a devoted Jehovah Witness. Her faith is what carried her through all of her days and kept her mentally strong to the very end. Her prayers continuously protected her and her family. The love and comfort that she brought to her family through her smile, character and meals is what everyone who ever met her will remember.
She was predeceased by her husband Felix LaLuz, sister Felicita Carrillo and daughter Margie LaLuz. She is survived by one sister, Romana Rivera and a host of nieces and nephews. She was a remarkable woman who raised 4 daughters, Leaving behind 3 - Miriam (Richard), Marilyn (Henry), and Rosita. She leaves behind 14 grandkids (7 granddaughters-Eunisa, Kyisha, Liana (Edgar), Emily, Mari, Tabitha & Bianca & 7 grandsons-Eric, Kainon, Kyvon, Samuel, Jemar, Felipe & Carlos); She leaves behind 14 great-grandkids (8 great granddaughters-Devyana (Nick), Kailey, Vyvyana, Kailah, Mauriana, Feliana, Annaliya, and Serena & 6 great grandsons-Jaedyn, Matthew, Shaun, Orlando, Stevyn Michael, Kaiden). Also, 3 great-great grandkids (2 great-great grandsons Dominic & Jayceon & 1 great-great granddaughter Amiliana). Leaving a legacy of 35 (showing that she really lived a complete life).
She impacted everyone who walked through her home, feeding guests with food and preaching Jehovah's word to all that were brought in and treated them like family. She will be missed by all but will always continue to live in our hearts.
Emilia (María) LaLuz, de 90 años, de New Haven, falleció pacíficamente la noche del 2 de febrero de 2025.
Nació y se crió en Puerto Rico; llegó a New Haven, Connecticut, a la edad de 16 años, donde formó una vida y una familia con su esposo Félix. Era ama de casa, niñera, una cocinera increíble, costurera, pero sobre todo una devota testigo de Jehová. Su fe es lo que la ayudó a superar todos sus días y la mantuvo mentalmente fuerte hasta el final. Sus oraciones la protegieron continuamente a ella y a su familia. El amor y el consuelo que trajo a su familia a través de su sonrisa, carácter y comidas es lo que recordarán todos los que la conocieron.
Le precedieron en la muerte su esposo Félix LaLuz, su hermana Felicita Carrillo y su hija Margie LaLuz. Le sobreviven una hermana, Romana Rivera y una gran cantidad de sobrinos y sobrinas. Fue una mujer extraordinaria que crió a 4 hijas, dejando atrás a 3: Miriam (Richard), Marilyn (Henry) y Rosita. Además, 3 tataranietos (2 tataranietos: Dominic y Jayceon y 1 tataranieta: Amiliana). Dejó un legado de 35 (lo que demuestra que realmente vivió una vida completa).
Impactó a todos los que pasaron por su casa, alimentando a los invitados con comida y predicando la palabra de Jehová a todos los que fueron traídos y los trató como familia. Todos la extrañarán, pero siempre seguirá viviendo en nuestros corazones.
