Evangeline (Eva) Sarris Kitsos, 95, of North Haven, passed away on July 3, 2019 after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late James Kitsos.  Known as Eva to her friends and Yiayia to her family, Eva was born in New York City, daughter of the late George and Fortine Drossos Sarris. She worked for CIGNA for twenty years before retiring to her part time job at Yale University. There she worked in the Anthropology department  doing research for ten years. She was a dedicated UConn Huskies basketball fan. She was often found  cheering on the team with her dear friend and neighbor, Ria Beckham. She also loved reading and was a regular patron at the North Haven Library.She was a faithful parishioner of St. Barbara’s Greek Orthodox Church. Everyone who knew Eva loved her. She was the best Yiayia to her family.
Eva is survived by her son, George (Ludmila) Kitsos of Lakewood Ranch, FL (formerly of Cheshire) and her son in law, James Mullin of Middletown. She was a cherished Yiayia to Dena (Paul) Virgulto, Greg (Jennifer) Kitsos, Kelle (Scott) DeRico, Nicole (Michael) Golden and Victoria (Michael) Gillum.. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren including two who were her special care givers, Stephanie and Sara Neilson. She is also survived by her lifelong friends, the Sekas Family  Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Kristine Mullin and two brothers, John and Ted Sarris.
The family would like to thank the staff at Masonicare for the excellent care provided to Eva. They showed the utmost respect and compassion.
Funeral services will be held in St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Racebrook road, Orange Monday morning at 11:00 The family will receive relatives and friends  in the
Church from 10:00 to 11:00 The interment will be private for immediate family only
