Miss Conella P.”Connie” Chagares of 200 Leeder Hill Drive, Hamden passed away Oct. 22, 2018 . Born in New Haven Feb. 13, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Anna Koines Chagares. A Registered Nurse since 1947, she was a graduate of the Stamford Hospital School of Nursing.  She worked as a staff nurse at the Hosp. of St. Raphael, taught at Yale New Haven Hospital, Quinnipiac University and did private duty. She was always available at the nursing tent at Odyssey, the Greek Festival at St Barbara Greek Orthodox Church. She enjoyed traveling, sports activity including skiing, swimming and tennis. She was a member of St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church and the Ladies Philoptochos Society. She was well known for her hat collection. She is survived by her brother, Constantine “Gus” Chagares; one nephew, John Tashik; nieces, Andrea Tashik, Diane Urso and Paula Chagares. She was predeceased by one brother, William Chagares; a sister, Saundra Tashik; and a nephew, Peter Milo Chagares.
Funeral Services will be held in St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Racebrook Road, Orange Thursday morning at 10:30. Friends may call prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30.  Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Stratford.
