Charles L. Turcio Sr.

It is with a heavy heart we mourn the passing of Charles L. Turcio Sr., 69, of East Haven on January 10, 2026.

Charles was the husband of Rosemary Paolillo. He was born in New Haven, June 17, 1956 son

of Charles Turcio and Lenora Catania Turcio. Charles was a graduate of East Haven High

School and the University of New Haven where he studied criminal justice and was the football

captain at both schools. He coached High School football at East Haven as well as Sheehan

and the Hyde School where he started the program. Charles worked as a corrections officer at

Long Lane Juvenile Detention Center until his retirement. He was the father of Charles L.

(Alena) Turcio Jr. and Isabella (Nathan) Leonardo, the grandfather of Penelope and the late

Charlize Turcio, the brother of Karen L. and Robert S. Turcio and the late Michael

(Pinky) Turcio. Chuck was also the nephew of Emily and Mike DeRosa and is survived by

several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call at the Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St, New Haven Sunday

February 1st from 1-4 PM. Burial with his parents in All Saints Cemetery will be private.
