Catherine Droney LoRicco, 85, of Branford and New Haven passed away peacefully June 11, 2021. She was the wife of the late, John J. LoRicco. Catherine was born in Ireland on December 29, 1935 and immigrated to the United States in 1958. She and her husband operated the 5th Ave. Beauty Salon in New Haven for many years. Catherine is survived by her brother, Austin Droney and her sister, Rosemary Droney, both of England. She was a first cousin of Michael Droney, and many Droney cousins of Hamden. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews along with several great nieces including, Lindsay, Lauren, Lucille, and Leah. She cared for and adored them as her own children and they in turn, cared for her.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects Wednesday morning from 11-11:30 AM in the Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St., New Haven followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church, 129 Edwards St. at 12:00 Noon. She will be entombed with her husband in the St. Lawrence Garden Mausoleum.
