Constance “Connie” Garivaltis Margoles, 88, of Old Greenwich, formerly of Whitney Ave., New Haven passed away Oct. 31, 2016 in Stamford Hospital after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Constantine J. “Gus” Margoles. Connie was born in Pittsfield, Mass. on March 3, 1928, daughter of the late George and Stella Garivaltis, and sister of the late James Garivaltis. A graduate of Pittsfield High School and Mt. Ida Junior College, she worked at the Pittsfield Savings Banks until her marriage to Gus and move to New Haven in 1956. She was a loving wife, homemaker and beloved mother of two daughters, Ms. Christine Ann Margoles of Bridgeport, CT and Dr. Sandra Lee Margoles of Old Greenwich, CT. She was later employed by Yale Health Plan where she worked as an administrative assistant. She was an active member of St. Barbara’s Greek Orthodox Church and the Ladies Philoptochos Society.
Friends may call at The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. (cor. Dwight) New Haven Friday from 4 to 7 pm and are invited to attend funeral services at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Racebrook Road, Orange Saturday morning at 9:30 am. Interment will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park, Hamden. In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Barbara’s Greek Orthodox Church, Orange , CT.
