Carmen J. Pace, 76, of New Haven, passed away Dec. 11, 2016 in Yale New Haven Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Sarah Dodd Pace and was a former resident of Woodbridge. Mr. Pace was born in Schenectady, New York on Sept. 28, 1940, son of the late Samuel and Rose Marie Colandra Pace. He graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in Schenectady 1957 and Union College in 1962. He earned a Masters degree in social work from NYU in 1964 and later, a Masters degree in public health from Rutgers. He served as clinical supervisor at the Child Guidance Clinic in Bridgeport from 1974 to 1980 and as Clinical Director from 1980 to 2002. He was in private practice as a licensed clinical social worker from 1982 to 2002 and in 2003 served as senior clinician at The Center for Hope in Darien.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Megan Pace of Derby; two sisters, Rose Marie Caffarelli of Lake Oswego, Oregon and Mary Anne (Armand) Quadrini of Albany, N.Y.; a niece and several nephews.
Friends may call at The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. (cor. Dwight) New Haven Wednesday, Dec. 14th from 4 to 8 pm and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 75 Center Road, Woodbridge Thursday morning at 11:00. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
