CAMILLE L. (Pagliuca) MEEKER Obituary

Camille L. Meeker, of Hamden, passed away on January 3, 2021 at the age of 97. He was the widow of Donald E. Meeker. Camille was born in New Haven September 22, 1923 a daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth Cosenza Pagliuca. She worked as a waitress at Kasey’s Restaurant and at one point owned and operated the cafeteria at the New Haven Register with her father and brother. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother with her six grandsons always running around the house. Camille loved to sew and decorate always having a project from making drapes, reupholstering, making cookies or a pie. She loved to play pinochle twice a week with her girlfriends, and enjoyed music and dance, always entertaining her friends with dinner parties, and was always very involved in functions at the Ascension Church. Mrs. Meeker is survived by her children Donna Meeker, Douglas (Deborah Carey) Meeker, and Pamela (Gordon) Stricker; her grandchildren Dustin Meeker, Joshua (Liz) Stricker, Douglas Meeker Jr., Christopher Stricker, and Timothy (Laura) Stricker; and her great grandchildren Killian Stricker and Skylar Meeker. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her grandson Donald Douglas Argentino; and her sisters, Cecilla Pane, Helen Palmisano, and Florence Decker.
A graveside service in her honor will be held Monday January 11th at 1:00 PM in East Lawn Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband and grandson. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated in memory of our dear mother.
