Bohdan (Danny) Sowa, 74, of East Haven and Branford passed away peacefully August 22, 2024 after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his wife Ella Smith Sowa. Bohdan was born April 6, 1950 son of the late John and Mary Husak Sowa. Mr. Sowa was a graduate of East Haven High School and attended New Haven College. He was employed by the Knights of Columbus and the State of Connecticut. Mr.Bohdan Sowa was a great participant and supporter of the Ukrainian Catholic Church and Ukrainian national events. Bohdan was a lifelong member of the Ukrainian Scout association SUMA in New Haven and New England. He was a consultant to the Ukrainian Self Reliance Credit Union (now the Chicago Self Reliance Credit Union) in Hartford and was also a member of the St. Andrew Apostle Society, St Mary Magdalene Society and the Campania Club.

   A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church, 569 George St., New Haven on Friday September 27th at 10:00 AM.  A private Panachyda service and interment with his wife Ella will take place at a later date.
