Antonia Longley, age 97, passed away on September 30, 2024 in Milford, CT. Born March 2, 1927, Antonia, affectionately known as Toni, was a spirited and determined individual who dedicated much of her life to her two daughters raising them single handedly. Toni worked tirelessly at her job with JBT until the company relocated. Her passion for cooking was evident in her delicious lemon chicken soup and various Greek dishes, which she lovingly prepared for family and friends. In her younger days Toni was an avid dancer, especially fond of the jitterbug, and she never lost her love for going out to eat, travel, and trying different foods. Playing bingo and dancing remained her cherished hobbies throughout her life.
Toni was predeceased in death by her parents, Andrew Rodopulos and Christina Nicolapoulou, her husband Robert Longley, her younger daughter Jane Ritchie; and her twin sisters, Mary Brent and Sophie Smith. She is survived by her daughter Christine Ritchie Pyle of Huntington Beach, CA, her dear friends Tom and Lori Hammell and her nephews David, Brian, and Ernie Pendergrass of Rhode Island, as well as dear friends Gilbert Avery and family.
Services to honor Toni’s life will be held at the Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St., New Haven CT Tuesday October 15th with a visitation from 9:00-10:30 AM followed by a funeral service at 10:30. Interment will her husband will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Those who knew her will remember Toni for her resilience, warmth, and the joy she brought into their lives.
