Anthony "Tony" A. DeSanto, aged 80, passed away on October 6th, 2024 in Meriden, CT. Born in New Haven, CT, Tony was a proud alumnus of Notre Dame High School and Southern Connecticut State University.
Tony served honorably in the Army Reserves for five years, where he dedicated himself to his duties and embraced the camaraderie of his fellow reservists. His commitment to service was a significant chapter in his life.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Tony's passion for the New York Yankees and the New York Giants was unmatched. He found great joy in watching games, a hobby that brought him much happiness throughout his life. Tony loved bird watching, all music and reading books!
Tony was a devoted family man, deeply loved by his daughters, Stephanie, Therese, and Maria, and his grandchildren, Sam, Megan, Grace and Mark Gardner, and Anthony DeSanto. He is also survived by his sister, Catherine Mongillo, and niece and nephews, Dana, Ryan, and JJ Mongillo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian and Alfred DeSanto.
The family will gather to honor and remember Tony at Celentano's Funeral Home in New Haven, CT, on October 10, 2024. Celentano's has been entrusted with the arrangements, ensuring that Tony's farewell is handled with care and respect.
