Anthony C Augliera, 90, of West Haven passed away on August, 22, 2022 after a courageous battle with a terminal illness. Born in New Haven on May 25, 1932 to Stella (Zumbo) and Paul Augliera. He attended school in New Haven, graduating from St. Anthony’s Elementary School and Hillhouse High School. He worked for 32 years for the New Haven Tobacco Company until his retirement. He independently worked as a concessionaire at town parades and various fairs through-out Connecticut, selling novelties and balloons. He was an avid fan of sports and loved watching games on TV and was a die-hard fan of the Yankees Baseball team.
A long time resident of West Haven he was the widower of Teressa (Esposito) Augliera. He was predeceased by his sisters, Pauline Augliera Gagliardi of West Haven and Sarah Augliera Perrelli of Milford.
He is survived by his daughter Toniann Augliera Capone and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Victory Church, 300 Captain Thomas Blvd, West Haven Tuesday August 30th at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Toniann would like you to bring a balloon to the service to bid Anthony farewell. Contributions may be made to the Lymphoma Foundation through the National of State Cancer Society.
