Yota Y. Tjimis, Ph.D., 78, of Orange, passed away unexpectedly at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Pavlos D. Tjimis. Mrs. Tjimis was born in Athens, Greece of Sept. 4, 1938, daughter of the late Demosthenes and Pagona Yiamalidou. She has been an Orange resident for many years. A faithful member of St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, she served on the Iconography Committee and was a member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society and the Daughters of Penelope. She is survived by her daughter, Renee Tjimis Efthymiou and son in law, Pantelis of Ansonia; and grandchildren, Paul (Nicole) Tjimis, Niki Tjimis, Paul (Rachel) Efthymiou, Bobby (Ariel) Efthymiou and Panayota (Nick) Efthymiou. She was predeceased by her son, Demetrios Tjimis.

Friends are invited to attend funeral services at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Racebrook Road, Orange Friday at 12:00 Noon. Visiting hour prior to the service from 11:15 to 12:00. Private interment will follow in Beaverdale. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Barbara Church Building Fund
