Stanislaus I. Turski, 94, of New Haven passed away March 27, 2015 in The Connecticut Hospice, Branford. He was the husband of the late Shirley Cramer Turski. Mr. Turski was born in Clinton, Mass. on Sept. 21, 1920, son of the late Ignacy and Mary Sawicli Turski. He attended St. Stanislaus School, New Haven High School and Boardman Trade School in New Haven; Alexander Hamilton Institute and International Correspondence Schools where he earned his certification in Mechanical Engineering. He worked at the New Haven Register, A.C. Gilbert Co., Mite Corporation and Pratt Whitney Aircraft. During World War II, he served in the United States Marine Corps. in the South Pacific War Theater. He participated in landings of the Third Marine Division at Bougainville and Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara (George M.) Chvirko of Naugatuck; and a grandchild, Elizabeth Ann Chvirko. He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Turski and two sisters, Estelle Burkle and Annette Mongillo.

Friends may call at The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. (cor. Dwight) New Haven Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm and are invited to attend services in the funeral home on Wednesday at 1:00 pm. Interment, with Military Honors, in All Saints Cemetery.
