It is with deep sadness the family of Mark Howard Pearson announces his passing.  Mark courageously fought a two-year battle with cancer before succumbing on October 5, 2021 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Mark was born on October 28, 1955 in Bethesda, Maryland to Howard and Anne (Livingston) Pearson.  After he graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law, he married the love of his life Julieanne Febbraio in 1983.

Outside his law practice, Mark enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, including the New York Times crossword puzzles and walks with his faithful dog Karma.  He loved spending time pruning his extensive bonsai tree collection, practicing his ukulele and being in nature. Mark went on many trips to the Allagash in Maine with his family. He was happiest in his backyard with loved ones and a roaring fire.

Mark leaves his friends and family with a legacy of loving kindness.  He was a gentleman in every sense of the word who had a kind word for everyone.  He never failed to help friends in need, including a good deal of pro-bono work for the boys in Bethany.

Mark leaves behind his loving wife of 38 years Julieanne; his children Andrew, Alex (Danielle), Katy (Anthony) and Sarah (Matt); his grandchildren Jules, Jack, Madelyn and newborn Riley; his mother Anne; siblings Stephen (Marylou), David (Paloma), Leslie, Douglas (Cindy), and Jennifer; numerous nieces and nephews as well as his friend, confidant and legal assistant Elena.

The family would like to acknowledge the love and support Gina, Jennifer and Nancy provided to Mark during his illness.

Family will be available to receive friends from 2-4 pm on October 16, 2021 at the Celentano Funeral Home in New Haven, CT.  A service will follow at 4pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the American Cancer Society.

We are deeply saddened to hear of Mark’s passing. Mark was a gentle and kind person and always had a kind word for anyone he met. Both he and Julianne were always so generous to my family and myself and I will forever be grateful for the many kindnesses they extended to us over our years of friendship. Mark’s legacy I’m sure will live on in his wife, children and grand children. With sincerest sympathy,

I am saddened by Mark's passing. He and I had many cases together over the years and he was always very easy going and professional - never a harsh word. He was a credit to our profession and he will be missed. My condolences to Mark's entire family.

I am so very saddened to hear of Mark's passing. I first met Mark after my mother passed away, and he was very compassionate and patient with me, advising me and supporting me through probate court and family issues. He then assisted me with my own legal issues after a car accident which lasted a few years. He always had a kind word and a smile every time we talked. I am very grateful to have met him. My prayers are with the family as they journey forward.

I had the pleasure of working with Mark on a few cases. As a younger attorney, it was refreshing to see someone with his experience who retained his vigor and enthusiasm for assisting his clients. Mark was always collegial, professional, and eager to talk about life outside of law- a reflection on what I always observed to be a family oriented and fun-loving man. He was always a worthy adversary, but more importantly, a gracious and kind person beyond the law. The Connecticut legal community will miss his presence dearly. Sincerest of condolences to his family and those that were fortunate enough to know him well.
