Warden Roger W. “Bargie” Everson(retired) passed away November 7, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Roger was born to the late George Andrew Everson and Louise Piper Everson. He leaves to mourn his wife of 61 years, Martha Pullen-Everson, his children Khris (David) Crenshaw, Roger II (Ann) Everson, Christopher(Jackie) Everson  and Jodi Everson.
He leaves behind his sister and brother in laws, Ruby “Jackie” (Dennis) Daniels and Bishop Augustus (Michele) Pullen and Jessie Kennedy; his nephew Craig (Maurice) Everson. He also leaves to mourn his cherished and loving 20 grandchildren, and 16 great-grand children, special cousin Pearl Harris and several god-children and a host of family and friends.
Roger is predeceased by his parents, his brothers George “Sonny” Everson and Oliver “Sug” Rosario, son in law David Crenshaw, brother in law Carl ( Linda) Pullen, Richard “Dick”  Kennedy, and sister in law Jimmie (Serge) Reynolds. Roger was a Korean War Veteran honorably discharged. He remained in the Army Reserves, while employed at the Post Office. He moved on to work in the New Haven community as a health planner at S.C.C.C.H.I., Executive Director of the Hill Neighborhood Corporation, and later retiring as Warden for D.O.C. After retirement he remained active in New Haven and Bridgeport communities through church as a Deacon, and other mentoring programs. He will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday November 15, 2018 at Trinity Temple C.O.G.I.C at 285 Dixwell Avenue, New Haven, CT at 11 am. The viewing will be from 9:30 am to 10:45am. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery , New Haven. Arrangements are in care of The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St., New Haven.

Martha Its amazing how we just clicked so many years ago and it started a great friendship. George and I are deeply honored and blessed to have known Roger and the Everson family since as long as I can remember Elm Haven, "Q" House and St. Paul UAME church youth. I know you had a great marriage and loved him so much. I share your grief at this time. May God bless and comfort you and your family.
