Barbara Morrone Connor, 69, of New Haven, passed away Oct. 12, 2017 at Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale. She was the wife of Patrick F. Connor. Barbara was born in New Haven Nov. 14, 1947, daughter of Mrs. Mary Morrone of New Haven and the late Frank J. Morrone. After graduating from Hillhouse High School and Mary Washington College, Barbara’s first job was as an aid in the office of Senator Abraham A. Ribicoff in Washington. After a career in government and public relations in New York City, she returned to New Haven and worked for Pearce Real Estate in North Haven from 2007 until early this year. Barbara’s generous, giving spirit continually lifted family and friends. She was a ready source of support for all, with special affection for her nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by one brother, Frank Morrone of New Haven; two sisters, Annette (Joseph) Sullivan of Orange and Mary Ann (James) Smith of Hamden; two nieces, Jennifer (Todd) Green and Melissa Smith; one nephew, Joseph (Michelle) Sullivan Jr.; and three great nephews, Shay and Bayley Green and Nikolas Sullivan.

Friends may call at The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. (cor. Dwight) New Haven Monday from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon, followed by a service at Noon. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park will take place at a later date.
