Atty. William P. Kardaras, 83, a prominent Wall Street attorney, of Mamaroneck, N.Y., passed away July 16, 2013 in Sound Shore Medical Center, New Rochelle, N.Y. He was a loving and caring husband for 57 years to his wife, Jean Frontis Kardaras. Born in New Haven, CT. on Jan. 14, 1930, he was the son of the late Peter and Anastasia Christopoulos Kardaras. He graduated from the University of Connecticut and New York Law School. While completing his education, Mr. Kardaras worked full time as a insurance investigator on the New York Waterfront. He joined the maritime law firm of Bigham Englar Jones & Houston and quickly rose to senior partner and member of the executive committee of the firm. He left to form his own law firm with offices on Wall Street and in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. He litigated multidistrict, multinational, and multimillion dollar matters. He traveled the world in defense of his clients and loved to visit his beloved relatives in Greece. Before studying law, he served in the U.S. Air Force, and was stationed in Los Alamos, N.M. and London, England where he armed tactical nuclear weapons. He was a Renaissance Man with an amazing intellect, strong ethics and a love of teaching. His interests included crossword puzzles, Greek dancing, sailing, skiing, violin playing, billiards and he was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Giants. Besides his wife, he is survived by two loving sons, Peter and Constantine; and seven grandchildren, Kristen, Julian, Kyra, Christopher, Rebekah,  Susanne and Luke.  Also survived by his beloved brother, Costa "Gus" (Charlotte) Kardaras of Guilford. Friends may call at The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St., (cor. Dwight) New Haven Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm and are invited to attend funeral services at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Racebrook Road, Orange Wednesday, July 24th at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park, Hamden.
