Marilyn Ann Herpok, 65, of French Ave., East Haven went home to be with The Lord and her beloved parents on July 21, 2011. Marilyn was born in New Haven Aug. 5, 1945, daughter of the late John J. and Mary J. Hangasky Herpok. She attended school in East Haven and graduated from East Haven High School in 1963. She retired from Anthem Blue Cross-Well Point as a research analyst after 43 years of dedicated service. More recently, she enjoyed working as office manager at the Madison Beach Club until her illness. She was a Tupperware consultant for 30 years; a volunteer at the Shubert Theater as a Shubert Star and the Ronald McDonald Golf Tournament; a member of the East Haven Lions Club; Golf Tournament Gift Organizer for Y-ME Breast Cancer; and a dedicated Red Sox and UConn Women's Basketball fan. She enjoyed traveling, especially her weekends away to explore. She was an organizer of the Blue Cross Travel Club. The love of her flower garden was her tranquility. She was a caring and loving person, always thinking of others before thinking of herself. She leaves to cherish her memory her brother and sister in law, John Michael and Katherine Herpok of North Haven; her sister, Elizabeth Smiles of Wallingford; a nephew, Jack Joseph (Laurie) Herpok of Wallingford; a niece, Margaret Mary (Nicholas) Hale of East Burke, VT.; great niece, Leah Rose Herpok and great nephews, Aaron Michael Herpok, Zachary Buck and Connor Michael Hale. She was predeceased by her brother in law, Peter C. Smiles Sr. The family would like to acknowledge the care given Marilyn by the staff on Star Wing at CT. Hospice. At Marilyn's request, Funeral Mass and Interment were private. Memorial contributions may be made to The Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford or the Monastery of the Glorious Cross, 61 Burban Drive, Branford, CT 06405

My heart is sad to learn of Marilyns passing. She was always so full of life and was always helping someone or donating her time and energy to a good cause. Marilyn always had a smile for everyone.
My deepest sympathy to the family!

I had the pleasure of working with Marilyn for close to 5 years. She was always willing to help and followed through. She continually wore a smile on her face and in her voice. She will be missed. My very deepest sympathy to the family.

Dear John, I am so sorry to see of the passing of your sister. I never had the pleasure of knowing her, but she sounds like a great person. She must take after her brother. Take Care. Doug Golden FM5.
