Bohdan Antonyshyn, 84, died peacefully at home Aug. 14, 2010 after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Mary Dolishny Antonyshyn. Born in Ukraine on Nov 29 1925, he came to the United States in 1949. He worked as a tool and die machinist at Textron Lycoming in Stratford for 31 years prior to his retirement in 1990. He was very active in St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church and the Ukrainian Community. He was head of the Ukrainian National Home from 1973 to 1977. He served in the military in the Ukrainian First Division. Besides his wife, he will be deeply missed by his sister in law, Dr. Melania Antonyshyn and two nieces, Zenia & Irena and their children in Ukraine; his sister in law, Raissa Dolishny; nephews, Michael and his wife Lori Dolishny and their children, Diana, Michael & Lauren; John and his wife Lisa Dolishny and their children, Alyssa, Kayla and Briana; nieces, Natalie and David Bergeson; Nina and Joseph Regan and their children, Joe and Sammy; and dear friends, Christoforo and Lyuba Schiano. He was predeceased by his parents, Rev. Mychaylo and Osypa Antonyshyn, two brothers, Yaroslav and Zenon Antonyshyn, a sister, Irena Antonyshyn, brothers in law, Wasyl and Mychaylo Dolishny and his dear friend whom he regarded as a daughter, Maryanne (Marianka) Romanytch. Friends may call at The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. (cor. Dwight) New Haven Monday from 4 to 8 PM. Panachyda Service at 7:00 PM. Funeral Liturgy in St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 569 George St. New Haven Tuesday, Aug. 17th at 10:00 AM. Interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
