Rose Raccio Mendillo, 98, of Guilford, formerly of Legion Ave., New Haven died Dec. 23, 2011. She was the widow of Frank Mendillo. Mrs. Mendillo was born in New Haven April 9, 1913, daughter of the late Antonio and Maria Torello Raccio. She is survived by two sons, Pasquale (Rosemarie) Mendillo of Atlanta, GA. And Frank (JoAnn) Mendillo Jr. of Guilford; four grandchildren, Jamie Mendillo, Gari (Kathryn) Mendillo, Cheryl (Peter) Bartlewski & Lori (Ron) Imhof; and four great grandchildren, Zack & Alexa Imhof and Jack & Julia Bartlewski. She was predeceased by a brother, Samuel C. “Sam” Raccio and two sisters, Jennie Muzzi and Mary Gallio. Rose’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Apple Rehab. – Saybrook, especially to the staff in the Northwest wing for the compassionate and loving care they gave her. Funeral services will be held in The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. (cor. Dwight) New Haven Wednesday, Dec. 28th at 11:00. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 am.
