Evangelos A. (Angelo) Angelopoulos, 76, of 4 Timothy Drive, North Haven passed away Dec. 18, 2011 in Middlesex Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Maryann Mitchell Angelopoulos. Mr. Angelopoulos was born in Nemea, Greece on April 30, 1935, son of the late Athanasios and Marigo (Maria) Karkazis Angelopoulos. He came to this country in 1951 and worked at the former Carson’s Restaurant on Church St. in New Haven. For the past 40 years, he operated Henry’s Restaurant on State St. in North Haven in association with his brother. He served in the Connecticut Army National Guard and was a member of Chapter 98, Order of AHEPA. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Athanasios Angelopoulos; one daughter, Georgia Angelopoulos; a brother, Spyro (Nancy) Angelopoulos of North Haven; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. (cor. Dwight) New Haven Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm and are invited to attend funeral services at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Racebrook Road, Orange Thursday, Dec. 22nd at 10:30. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to St. Barbara Church, 480 Racebrook Road, Orange, CT 06477.
