WARREN, MARION E.
May 16, 2006

Marion Estelle Warren, 96, of 77 Third St., New Haven, died May 16, 2006 in St. Raphael’s Hospital. She was the widow of Alfred M. Warren. Mrs. Warren was born in New Haven Sept. 13, 1909, daughter of the late William & Nellie Eaton Lafo. She worked as a waitress in several downtown restaurants including Tasty Toasty, Grant’s Lunch Counter, Shartenberg’s Tea Room and Patricia’s. She is survived by 2 sons, Richard C. Warren of New Haven & retired N.H. firefighter Alfred E. Warren of North Haven; a daughter, Carol Houle of Clinton; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren & 3 great great grandchildren.
Friends may call at The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. (cor. Dwight) New Haven Thursday (TODAY) from 5 to 8 PM and are invited to attend funeral services in the funeral home Friday at 11:00 AM. Interment in Beaverdale.

 
 
SPONTINO, JOHN

John Spontino Jr., 68, of Orchard St., New Haven, died May 16, 2006 in The CT. Hospice, Branford after a short illness. Born in New Haven Sept. 2, 1937, he was the son of the late John Spontino Sr. & Julia Sasso Murgo. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, West Haven and proudly served in the US Air Force as an Airman Second Class. He worked for Carbonella & DeSarbo and for Columbus House, and was the former owner of the Highwood Bar & Grille. He is survived by a brother, Guy (Tanya) Spontino of Bluffton, S.C.; 2 sisters, Barbara Cervero of Shelton & Lori Bauer of West Hartford, 2 aunts, Madeline Pitts & Frances Candella; an uncle, Fred “Toots” Napolitano; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Friends are invited to attend funeral services in The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. (cor. Dwight), New Haven Saturday morning at 10:30. Calling hours prior to the service from 8:30 to 10:30. SILVESTRINI, ELISA
May 7, 2006

Elisa Bettarelli Silvestrini, 87, of 148 Folly Brook Lane, Manchester, formerly of 122 Willard St., New Haven, died May 7, 2006. She was the wife of the late Thomas E. Silvestrini. Mrs. Silvestrini, daughter of the late Gaetano & Aurora Grossi Bettarelli, was born in Smithmill, PA on Jan. 7, 1919. She was a Registered Nurse and worked in New Haven area hospitals for many years. She is survived by 1 daughter, Sharon A. Silvestrini of Manchester, with whom she resided; 2 sons, Robert T. & Gary J. Silvestrini, both of New Haven; 2 grandchildren, Elena & Alissa. She was predeceased by a brother, Guy Bettarelli and 4 sisters, Ann Bettarelli, Lola Pascale, Julie Ramadei & Adele Pavlovich.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Aedan’s Church, New Haven, Thursday morning at 10:00. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Arrangements are in care of The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St., New Haven.

 
 
LE CLAIRE, ROBERT L
May 1, 2006

Robert Louis LeClaire, 48, of 103 Old Nod Rd., Clinton, died at home May 1, 2006. Born in Providence, R.I. March 13, 1958, he was the son of Nancy LeClaire Boyd of New Haven and the late John LeClaire. He worked as a private contractor, and for the past 15 years was part owner in PBL Alterations. He served in the US Army. Beside his mother, he is survived by his step father, Thomas Boyd of New Haven; his significant other, Carol Templeman of Clinton and their son, Kenneth Michael LeClaire; another son, Robert LeClaire Jr. of Hamden; 2 daughters, Tiffany LeClaire of PA. & Kimberly LeClaire of FL.; 2 brothers, Jeffrey & Irving “Russell” LeClaire, both of New Haven; 3 sisters, Priscilla Jones & Geneva Lawhorn, both of New Haven and April LeClaire of FL.; 5 grandchildren, 3 nieces, 11 nephews and several aunts & uncles. He was predeceased by a brother, Steven T. LeClaire and his grandparents, Thomas & Evelyn Davis Preston and Harry & Viola LeClaire.

Rose Richitelli DeCrosta, 88, of 12 Naugatuck St., East Haven, passed away April 25, 2006 in Coral Springs Medical Center in Florida. She was the widow of Benjamin DeCrosta. Mrs. DeCrosta, daughter of the late John & Antoinette Argosa Richitelli, was born Sept. 5, 1917 in East Haven. She is survived by 3 sons, Pasquale DeCrosta of West Haven, Benjamin DeCrosta Jr & John DeCrosta, both of East Hartford; 2 daughters, Marie Keppel of Coral Springs, FL. and Annette (George) Cofrancesco of East Haven; 2 sisters, Mary Wnek of East Haven & Catherine Acampora of Florida; 8 grandchildren & 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 3 brothers, Pasquale, John & Anthony Richitelli and a sister, Raphaela (Rae) Acampora.

PIONTEK, JOSEPH F.
April 23, 2006

Joseph F. Piontek Jr., 93, of 1450 Whitney Ave., Hamden, formerly of 230 Treadwell St., died April 23, 2006 in Hamden Health Care after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Leila Castles Piontek. Born in New Haven May 25, 1912, he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Anna L. Gruza Piontek. He attended the Renouard Training School for Embalmers in New York and was a licensed embalmer with the Celentano Funeral Home for 20 years. More recently, he worked as a supervisor in the Resource Unit of the Conn. Dept. of Social Services until his retirement. He is survived by a son, Gregory J. (Sandra) Piontek of North Haven; and 2 grandchildren, Christine Piontek of Brookline, MA. and Robert Piontek of North Haven. He was predeceased by 2 sisters, Helen P. Palaski and Marian P. Celentano.

Thomas Celentano, 58 of 20 Cortina Road, East Haven, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2006, Born in New Haven July 2, 1948, he was the son of Louis J. Celentano of New Haven and the late Philomena “Fay” Piscitelli Celentano.

Domonic A. Mauro Jr., 50, of State St., Hamden, died peacefully on April 13, 2006. Born in New Haven Nov. 26, 1955, he was the son of Domonic A. Mauro Sr. of Branford and the late Carol M. Izzo Mauro. Mr. Mauro worked at various times as a limousine driver. Beside his father, he is survived by 2 sisters, Donna Mauro of Orlando, FL. and Michele Christian of Cheshire; niece & nephews, Carol & David Palumbo of Orlando and Joey & Luke Christian of Cheshire.

BLATCHLEY, ROBERT M.
April 13, 2006

Robert M. Blatchley, 69, of 155 Schaffer Road, Bethany, died April 13, 2006 surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Helen Basilio Blatchley. Mr. Blatchley, son of the late William & Alice Malone Blatchley, was born in New Haven Dec. 7, 1936. He was employed as a driver for the US Postal Service for 16 years until his retirement 5 years ago. Prior to that, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for Mesa Construction Co. for more than 20 years. He enjoyed spending time with family & friends and enjoyed card games. Beside his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, New Haven Firefighter Michael R. Blatchley of Bethany and Marc M. (Jennifer) Blatchley of Miami, FL.; a brother, James (Beverly) Blatchley of Hallandale, FL.; 3 sisters, Suzanne (Pasquale) Giannelli of Waterbury, Joanne Bouffard of Oakville & Alice (Thomas) Langlais of Thomaston; a brother in law, Anthony Carbone; a grandson, Ryan Blatchley; and several nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Maureen Carbone.

OSBORNE, HARRY A.
April 10, 2006

Harry A. Osborne, 76, of Pacifica, CA., died peacefully at his home on April 10, 2006. He was the husband of Ruby Osborne and was a former resident of Connecticut. He had been a resident of Pacifica for the past 10 years. Born April 29, 1929, he attended West Haven High School and was a graduate of Ryder College. He worked at US Motors in Milford for many years, was an avid big pin bowler and enjoyed golfing. At one time he operated “Fascination” at old Savin Rock and served with the US Army of Occupation in Japan after World War II. Beside his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Kevin Osborne of Pacifica, CA. & Clifford Osborne of North Haven; a brother, John Osborne of Hamden; a sister, Evelyn Zarick of West Haven; 3 step children, Evon, Yvette & Pat; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and many nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Edgar Osborne. Services were held in California. The Celentano Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
